A spatial origami experience for Apple Vision Pro where the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac unfold around you.

01 — Overview

12 Folds is a mixed reality experience for Apple Vision Pro that reimagines the Chinese zodiac as a collection of living origami sculptures. Each animal is folded from a single sheet, then released into the room around the viewer — scaling, rotating, and settling into the real world like paper come to life.

02 — Challenge

Origami is deeply tactile: the crease, the flip, the final press. Translating that sense of care and transformation into spatial computing meant finding interactions that feel hand-made without asking the viewer to hold a controller.

03 — Approach

I designed each zodiac animal as a low-poly folded form that unfolds in stages, using hand-tracking and gaze to let viewers pinch, rotate, and release the paper into their space. The environment stays minimal — a quiet room with soft light — so the origami animals become the full focus.

04 — Outcome

A playable Apple Vision Pro concept: twelve interactive origami animals, each with its own folding sequence, spatial sound, and a short origin story tied to the zodiac.
